Tanner and I are excited to share our story with you as we journey through the adoption of our son! God is teaching us so much as we follow in faith to bring Amos home. We are trusting the Lord to build our family in His timing and His way and we await our son's arrival with great expectation!
2012 brought about some new and exciting things, including a new job for Tanner
in a new town. My home town. Never say never! Shortly after our move we realized we were ready to submit our application for the adoption of our son. God opened the door. It's something we have been saving for and praying about since before we were married. July 1st was the day we submitted our first form and for the past 7 months we've been paper chasing! We are
super excited and crazy nervous, as well as super anxious, but we are
trusting in the Lord's timing and provision for us and for our little
guy.
We do not have a ton of information, but what we do know is that our
little man will be 0-3 years old upon referral, from the country of
Ethiopia, we are calling him Amos and he is forever ours. We believe
that adoption is the most accurate portrayal of the Gospel and what
Christ did for us, and thus feel a responsibility as believers to pursue
this beautiful picture of God's redeeming work.
We also believe that as followers of Christ we have a mandate from
Scripture to fight against injustice and love BIG. Scripture says
"Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the
cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow." Isa. 1:17 NIV,
and thus this is what we are seeking to do. We are asking that you
partner with us during this time by simply praying for us. Join
with us in praying for Amos as we await his arrival. I cannot
communicate the importance of having you praying on our behalf. Please know
that you are loved and appreciated by Tanner and I and we are thrilled
to walk through this journey with you all!
