Dossier to Ethiopia

"I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you."
John 14:18

Friday, May 3 we got an email from our family coordinator with a tracking number and the news that we are DTE (Dossier to Ethiopia)! We have been checking the tracking on our little package and today it is on the vehicle out for delivery in Addis Ababa! This package will be received by the Ministry of Women's, Children's and Youth Affairs along with a letter of recommendation to be processed. So what does this mean? you might ask...we wait. Just like Karen Carpenter sings, we have only just begun to live wait...we now wait for a picture and a medical report of our referred child! A day that is greatly anticipated!

So during this season of waiting we are keeping ourselves busy with the things of life. Being a HS/College pastor and wife keeps our summers very eventful! We are looking forward to the adventures that await and the day that we will reminisce with our Amos about what we did while we waited for God to bring us together. How fun. I think I will create a photo book/journal for this season. I'm not exactly sure how that will look but I'll keep thinking on it and keep y'all posted! I also have a new venture that I'm embarking on in the world of business...my mother in law, Karen and I recently rented a booth at an antique mall where we are selling some of our creations.

It came together quickly, but it's something I've always hoped to make a reality! For those of you who don't know I love to do chalk art. Over a year ago, I made a goal to learn how to do different lettering and font by hand. I'm definitely a font freak and a lover of typography. So I've been practicing...

and now all my practice has taken life in the form of these digital versions of my custom chalkboard art that I'm now selling in our booth as well as in our Etsy shop!

I've just taken some of our favorite scripture and quotes from impeccably talented people, hello mumford+sons ;)

right now I have just a few available but I'm still working so there will be more to come!

I'd love for you to hop on over and visit our shop!! and if you would like you can purchase your very own print! All the proceeds will go toward our fund to bring Amos home...what else!

That is what has been going on in our world! We are excited about the progress that has been made and about the doors God has been opening along the way. We are blessed!
