An Update

Hello Readers,

It has been several months since we have posted on here.  Sorry for the huge time gap, but summer time in student ministry is our most busy time of the year.  Summer was a blast this year.  We kicked off the hot season, by taking a cool trip to the motherland, New Mexico, for church camp. Four students made decisions to follow Jesus, and we praise God for that! Then in July we headed even further north to Ducklake, Saskatchewan, Canada for a mission trip.  Our church supports a missionary there, and the student ministries of First Odessa went up there to offer our support.  Kendra and I then drove back to the Republic of Texas, and that was an adventure.  Kendra will be posting pictures from our trip soon!  We finished the summer and rolled into the school year with back to back trips to Glorietta, NM and Dallas, TX.  It was an amazing summer.  We had several new experiences, including a 2200 miles trip from neo-North Pole down to Texas.

The reason for this post is that several of you have been asking about a timeline or wanting updates, and we appreciate your inquiries.  We love telling our story to people and we hope and pray that our of Amos' journey home, many families will choose adoption as they seek God's will for their families.  As you know (and if you don't, scroll down two or three posts), we sent all of our paperwork off to the Ethiopian government in April.  What this means is that we are now on the waiting list.  They told us that we can expect to wait 18-48 months before we are referred, so if we do the math we are down to 12-42 months.  I know, right?  Why the gap? Just pray, that's all we ask. Just pray and believe!

Scripture says, "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful." Hebrews 10:23 ESV.

God's timing is perfect.  I write this as a reminder to me, but maybe you need to be reminded of this as well!  God is faithful to do exactly what he has promised he would!

Go in Peace,

Tanner
